The laboratory of Pulp and Paper Science and Graphic Arts (LGP2, Joint research unit CNRS UMR 5518 with Grenoble University)
The laboratory of Pulp and Paper Science and Graphic Arts (LGP2, UMR 5518 CNRS-Grenoble University) is one of the two largest public European laboratories of pulp, paper, converting and printing science.
The laboratory’s research focuses on processes for the conversion and valorization of plant biomass, such as biorefinery and manufacture of biobased materials (paper and cardboard, composites, films, nonwovens) and on printing processes for surface functionalization in particular devoted to printed electronics.
LGP2 leads research on “green” processes with an emphasis on material and energy-saving and on sustainable chemistry for new functional materials. LGP2 consists of 3 research groups: i) Biorefinery: Chemistry and Eco-Processes, ii) Multi-Scale Bio-based Materials and iii) Surface Functionalization through Printing Processes.
